Gorakhpur Parks and Gardens

Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar Park in Gorakhpur

This park is located at a distance of around 4 kilometers from Gorakhpur Railway Station as is maintained by the Gorakhpur Development Authority. It is quite near the Ramgarh Taal Lake, quite near the Circuit House, and many people find it perfect to take a day off to visit the lake and then spend some quiet time at this park. Spread over a large, lush area, this park has a beautiful fountain in the center. Swings for children dot the park and there are a number of kiosks in this well-lit park that makes it ideal even for a visit during evenings.

Nehru Park in Gorakhpur

This park is located near Gita Press, in Gorakhpur's Laldiggi locality, leading to it also being referred to as the Laldiggi Park. On September 16th, 2005 a memorial was dedicated here to freedom fighter Ram Prasad Bismil. There are beautiful lawns and games for children, apart from picnic corners for the whole family. This park is open daily from 10:00 am to 7:00 pm and is a great getaway for the entire family.

Govind Ballabh Pant Park in Gorakhpur

This park is located at a distance of around 1 kilometer from Gorakhpur City Railway Station and remains crowded throughout the year. It is maintained by the Gorakhpur Development Authority, despite the fact that it is part of the D.D.U. Gorakhpur University Campus. It is a perfect place to step over for a morning or evening stroll, or to take kids for some fun on the swings and games set up there.

Vindhyavasini Park

Also known as V Park, this park is managed by the Gorakhpur Horticulture Department. It is set on the campus of the University of Gorakhpur, to the North East corner. This park is a great place for a morning or evening walk, or for those with a green thumb who would like to be on the lookout for plants for sale from the park's nursery.

Indira Bal Vihar Park in Gorakhpur

Located at a distance of 1.5 kilometers from Gorakhpur Railway Station, this park is a perfect ground for families with children. There are a number of amusements for kids and those who are kids at heart. These include swings, funny mirrors and playing wheels. Weekends and holidays see a large crowd here, especially due to the fact that it is in Golghar, the heart of the city, and is easily accessible.
